RALEIGH, NC – Middle Tennessee came up just two shots short of advancing to its second NCAA Championship on Wednesday after firing a school NCAA Regional record round of 275 (9-under par). It was the third-best round of the day and matched the eighth-best round in MT history.
The Blue Raiders, who led the field with 69 birdies, finished with an 836 total which went down as the best 54-hole score in the program's NCAA history. It also matched the third-best 54-hole total in MT history.
Middle Tennessee made a late charge with nine birdies over its final four holes but it wasn't enough.
