Former MTSU basketball coach Jimmy Earle delivered the program's first Ohio Valley Conference championship in school history back in 1975.
During his 10 years at the helm, MTSU posted a 164-103 record, won two OVC titles and went to two NCAA Tournaments.
Earle spent four seasons as an assistant under former coach Ken Trickey and was named his successor in 1969.
Earle was also the MTSU baseball coach and won an OVC title. He's the only coach to win league championships in two different sports.
He served as MTSU's athletic director for six years and then became a supervisor and evaluator of SEC basketball officials.
