MIAMI — FIU took the weekend series over Middle Tennessee with a 16-6 victory Sunday. The Panthers (11-9, 2-1 Conference USA) scored six runs in the fifth to tie the game and six more in the sixth to take the lead.
The Blue Raiders (9-10, 1-2 CUSA), hit six FIU batters and walked eight others as seven pitchers combined to allow 16 runs on 12 hits.
Cale Vinson started the scoring with the first home run of his career, a solo blast in the second inning. He drove in another run with a fourth-inning single.
