LA VERGNE -- In a game that was a defensive struggle, the Oakland Patriots stole a victory at La Vergne, 43-40 in overtime, last Friday.
Both defenses stifled each other in the first quarter, with the Patriots only scoring two points off of guard Wanya Moton's converted free throws. La Vergne center Chris Myers got of to a fast start as he scored six of his team's first-quarter points to help give the Wolverines a 10-2 first quarter lead.
Myers finished the game with eight points.
The Patriots got back in the game as the defense created turnovers that lead to points.
