MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The 2023-24 season could not have gotten off to a better start in the Glass House on Monday, with both the Lady Raiders and the Blue Raiders claiming dominant victories on opening night for college basketball around the country.
Taking on in-state foe Memphis, Middle Tennessee women's basketball controlled the game from tipoff to final buzzer, holding the Tigers to 19-for-71 (26.8 percent) shooting on the night, while Anastasiia Boldyreva went off in the post, scoring 23 points to go with 12 rebounds for her second career double-double. Savannah Wheeler and Jalynn Gregory joined the Moscow native in double figures scoring, with 17 points and 12 points, respectively.
