HOUSTON, Tex.– Middle Tennessee's women's tennis team finished their season in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA championship against 2-seed No. 41 Rice, 4-0.
The senior duo Costanza Magazzini and Kim Kermet were leading in their match at No. 1, 5-3, to the No. 53-ranked Michaela Haet and Linda Huang of Rice when the doubles ended. The Owls clinched the doubles point with 6-1 wins on court two and 6-2 on court three.
2nd-seed Rice took a 2-0 lead with the help of No. 70-ranked Michaela Haet at the top spot in the lineup, 6-3, 6-0.
