MTSU's baseball team used a six-run second inning to beat Tennessee in Lindsey Nelson Stadium for the first time since 2013, 7-4 Tuesday night.
The Blue Raiders (14-15) used a strong bullpen effort to hold the dangerous Volunteer (15-11) offense to just five hits in the game.
"It's a big win for our alumni, our fans, and our program" said MTSU Jim McGuire. "We let a game slip away Afrom us on Sunday, but battling back and getting this win is a big confidence booster and momentum builder."
The win marks the first mid-week loss Tennessee has suffered all season.
