Middle Tennessee Christian School's volleyball team stepped up in competition and defeated Riverdale in three sets, 25-14, 25-11,25-17 on Monday on the road night.
Mackenzie Harris, who had her 1,000th dig of her playing career in the game, filled the stat sheet with 17 kills, 18 digs, seven assists, five ace and a block, while Kalynn Kimbel had 16 kills, nine digs and an ace.
"I was just trying to encourage everybody," Harris said. "It was not in our favor to win. We're a small school, they're a big school and we like being the underdog."
The Lady Cougars went on a 7-0 run after falling behind 3-0 to start the first game, and Harris led the way with three points in the run.
