LEXINGTON, Ky. — For the second-straight day, Middle Tennessee qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships as Abike Egbeniyi, Agnes Abu and Eliud Rutto joined Jacob Choge for a trip to Eugene, Ore. next month.
Egbeniyi and Abu completed a 1, 2 finish in the third heat to continue their success in the women's 800-meter run. Egbeniyi posted a school-record time of 2:02.34 and finished second overall, while Abu took ninth overall with a time of 2:02.93.
On the men's side, Eliud Rutto claimed a spot in next month's Championships, clocking a 1:48.23 in the 800-meter run to finished 10th.
