BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — With day one in the books, Middle Tennessee turned in a successful start to the C-USA Championships. The men's team stands in second place with 31 points, while the women sit at No. 5 with 17 total points.
While MT awaits the finals in select track events, the Blue Raiders excelled in distance.
On the track, freshman Jacob Choge claimed the men's 5000-meter run, clocking a time of 14:13.60. Teammate Kigen Chemadi finished second for an additional eight points with a time of 14:14.90.
The distance medley relay team of Geoffry Cheruiyot, Trevon Sanders, Nathan Mack and Hillary Rono took second place with a time of 10:03.
