MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee nabbed seven first-place finishes, with the women's squad claiming five top spots, in a successful day Sunday at the Ed Temple Classic hosted by Tennessee State.
In the 55-meter event, Janet Amponsah and Ifiok Umoh kicked off the day by taking first with times of 7.05 and 6.48, respectively.
Shaina Johnson, Agnes Abu and Julia Jelagat took first-place finishes in the women's events of 400 meter, mile run and 3000-meter run. Johnson claimed a 57.91 finish, while Abu and Jelagat ran times of 5.00:81 and 10:47.97 in their respective events.
