MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee baseball struggled to get the bats going on Tuesday afternoon, scratching only four hits in a 3-0 loss to Lipscomb in the team's home opener.
The Blue Raiders (3-6) got a great start on the bump from senior Trent Seibert, who tossed 6.1 shutout innings, but head coach Jim Toman said a lack of hustle on the basepaths, sloppy fielding and lack of ability to hold runners on gave the Bisons (4-3) an opening in the eighth inning, where they took the lead for good with two unearned runs.
