JACKSONVILLE, Fla.— Middle Tennessee soccer fell against North Florida, 1-0 Friday morning at Hodges Stadium in its season-opening match.
The Osprey goal in the 36' proved to be the difference in the game, which was postponed due to heavy rain and unplayable field conditions.
After recording just one shot in the first half, the Blue Raider offense created more opportunities out of the break. Kirstine Lykke (57') and Delaney Thomas (62') took chances within minutes of each other but both shots went wide.
In her collegiate debut, Megan Carroll took two shots in 56 minutes while Madison Franz's shot on goal was saved in the 68'.
