MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee baseball kicked off its 2022 campaign officially on Wednesday, introducing this year's team to fans and supporters at the 49th annual Groundhog Day Luncheon.
Amidst the traditional meal of ham hocks, white beans, tomato salad, green onions, cornbread, chocolate cake and ice cream in the Student Union Ballroom, head coach Jim Toman and master of ceremonies Chip Walters gave Blue Raiders a look at what to expect from some the faces, old and new, across both the coaching staff and roster.
Both of Toman's top two assistants are new to Murfreesboro this season, with Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach Jerry Meyers joining the staff from an administrative role at South Carolina and Assistant Coach/Hitting Coach Jordan Getzelman coming on board from the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
