MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee shortstop Laura Mealer has earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
After being ranked top-15 in the country for batting average heading into the weekend, Mealer continued to swing the bat well at The Spring Games hitting .474 (9-19) with two home runs and eight RBIs. She had a hit in every game played by MTSU this weekend and multiple hits in three of the five games.
She now leads C-USA in batting average, RBIs, total hits, and runs scored.
