MaxPreps officially crowned the Riverdale girls basketball team national champions on Tuesday in a presentation and the school's gymnasium.
The Lady Warriors, who went 34-0 and won the Class AAA state title, finished just ahead of St. John's of Washington D.C., who went 30-2.
"Each fall, nearly forty thousand varsity basketball teams take the field in hopes of being champions," said Andy Beal, president of MaxPreps. "The MaxPreps Tour of Champions and the Army National Guard honor the most outstanding teams in the nation for their state championship performance and elite national level ranking
