MTSU sophomore forward Alex Johnson was named the Conference USA Player of the Week on Monday.
Johnson produced the third-highest scoring output in a C-USA game this season with 37 points against Florida Atlantic. Her 37 points are a career high and the most points scored by a Lady Raider since Alysha Clark's 48 against UALR in 2010.
In MTSUU's first win of the week, Johnson poured in 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting against FIU. Overall, the sophomore averaged 29.5 points in the two-game weekend sweep.
The former Blackman star shot 82 percent (18-of-22) from the free-throw line in the two games combined and 61 percent (20-of-33) from the field.
