HOUSTON – One of the nation's longest conference winning streaks is still alive.
Middle Tennessee put up a strong second-half effort but it wasn't enough as Rice as pulled away in the final quarter and secured a 77-60 win at Tudor Fieldhouse Saturday.
It was the 30th consecutive Conference USA win for Rice, which is the fourth-longest active conference win streak in the country dating back to 2018.
The Lady Raiders (16-8, 8-4) trailed by as many as 16 with 8:16 remaining in the third quarter but cut the lead to seven twice and had a chance to slice the deficit to four when Rellah Boothe's 3-pointer from the corner rimmed out with under three minutes remaining in the stanza.
