MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Thanks to a red-hot shooting performance, Middle Tennessee defeated Sam Houston 93-62 on Saturday afternoon at the Murphy Center.
The Lady Raiders (24-4, 14-0 CUSA) and Bearkats (7-19, 2-12 CUSA) opened the game strong offensively, with MTSU leading by just one halfway through the first quarter. The Lady Raiders started clicking defensively and took a 22-14 lead into the second. Ta'Mia Scott and Anastasiia Boldyreva took over the second period, scoring 16 of MTSU's 21 points in the frame to extend its lead to 43-30 at the half.
Coming out of the locker room, the two squads traded blows in the third, however, an 18-0 run to open the fourth quarter allowed Middle Tennessee to pull away.
