MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Senior Sampson Laari was named the Conference USA Male Athlete of the Week for his stellar performance in the UTC PowerAde Invitational, the conference office announced this morning.
Laari, in just his second career cross country race, finished first and led the Middle Tennessee men's team to a first place finish Friday in Chattanooga. The Kumasi, Ghana native ran a personal best 14:52.26 in the 5k and has excelled this season.
Associate Head Coach is impressed with Laari's performances so far this season.
"Sampson has made great progress since joining the team in January," Vroman said.
