LA VERGNE -- La Vergne Wolverines lost a back-and-forth shootout at home on Friday night, 29-28, against the McGavock Raiders.
Wide receiver Josh Lewis led the Wolverines with nine receptions for 135 yards and had two touchdown catches, while also coming up with an interception on defense.
"My coach just told me to go out there and make big plays, and be a baller and be a star for your team," Lewis said. "That's what I tried to do tonight."
The Wolverines got off to a rough start as they fumbled in their own territory, and the Raiders defense recovered and scored after quarterback ran into the end zone from two yards out.
