FRISCO, Texas – Senior forward Nick King has closed out the Conference USA awards cycle with his third honor in three days as the league office announced the Memphis native as its Player of the Year on Wednesday.
The announcement came in front of a host of media as King, alongside Gene Bartow Coach of the Year award winner Steve Henson (UTSA), were presented their trophies in a press conference at the Ford Center at The Star, the new home of the Conference USA Basketball Championship. King becomes the fourth Blue Raider in the last seven years to win league player of the year honors, joining LaRon Dendy (Sun Belt, 2012), Shawn Jones (C-USA, 2014) and JaCorey Williams (C-USA, 2017).
