Mother Nature ruled the roost last week as far the District 7 baseball and softball tournament were concerned.
However, there will be plenty of action this week when both tourneys will be part of the Kia of Murfreesboro Events of the Week. Both tournaments are being held at Blackman High School.
"It's wide open. It's a very balanced league, and anyone can beat anyone," said Stewarts Creek coach Mike Bartlett. "You better play your best baseball every game."
The 7-AAA baseball tournament was scheduled to begin on Thursday, but the initial first-round games weren't played until Saturday when Stewarts Creek beat Smyrna 4-3, Riverdale blanked Oakland 13-0 and La Vergne upset Siegel 7-4.
