BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The 64th renewal of one of Conference USA's oldest rivalries lived up to the billing as WKU held off an ardent Middle Tennessee squad to capture a 67-56 win at Diddle Arena Thursday.
It was the regular-season finale for both teams who will now turn their attention to the C-USA Championships in Frisco, Texas next week. Middle Tennessee (21-9, 11-5) will carry the No. 3 seed into the tournament, while WKU (17-13, 11-5) earned the No. 4 seed by virtue of Thursday night's win. Both teams receive a first-round bye into the quarterfinals.
