GERMANTOWN, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's golf looked strong on the opening day of the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate as they entered the clubhouse at 3-over par (289-282=571) through 36 holes.
The Blue Raiders used a 5-over par 289 in the cold and windy morning round to take the lead halfway through the day and went low in round two with a 2-under par 282, but fell behind Penn State (292-274=566) after their blistering second 18.
"It was a cold morning to get started, but overall we did a great job of coming out strong despite the conditions," head coach Chris Adams said.
