BOCA RATON, Fla. – Middle Tennessee Baseball had cut an initial four-run deficit in half, but the Florida Atlantic Owls hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to create permanent breathing room in a 13-5 win over the Blue Raiders on Friday night.
MTSU outhit the Owls 17-13 at FAU Baseball Stadium, but also committed four errors in the loss. The Raiders fall to 11-10 with the series-opening setback and are now 2-2 in Conference USA action.
Seven of the 13 FAU runs were unearned Friday night.
The Blue Raiders did draw first blood in the contest.
