MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee and WKU might be rivals on the field, but for more than a decade, the programs have come together ahead of their annual football matchup to help those in need by donating blood.
This year's blood drive leading up to the Oct. 3 contest might be more necessary than ever because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I think this year is probably more important than any year we've ever done it as a result of COVID-19," Diane Turnham, MT senior associate athletic director and senior women's administrator, said.
