MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — After a stellar week at The Spring Games and leading her team in the batter's box and in the field, Middle Tennessee shortstop Summer Burgess has been named Conference USA's Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Monday's honor marks the second time Burgess has been recognized by the league in 2021, as she was named to the C-USA Preseason Team on Feb. 4.
The fifth-year Blue Raider led her team in hits (9), runs (5), triples (2), total bases (15) and slugging percentage (.682) at the dish while also sporting a .
