MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee starting pitcher Aaron Brown was named Tennessee Sports Writer Association Pitcher of the Week for his outing in Thursday's series opener vs. Rice.
The Mt. Juliet native surrendered just one earned run and two hits against the Owls, marking the first time since Zac Curtis in 2014 that a Blue Raiders has thrown a complete game two-hitter. Brown fanned a total of nine Rice batters and walked just one, giving Brown his fifth game this year in which he's struck out at least nine and pushing his strikeout to walk ratio to 61:9 on the season.
