FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - The Wuerffel Trophy announced its watch list today of 91 players from college football's Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and Middle Tennessee's Khalil Brooks is on the distinguished list.
Brooks, who has earned second team all-conference honors two years in a row, enters the 2019 campaign ranked fifth all-time in sacks (14.5) at Middle Tennessee and fifth in tackles for loss (33.5). A preseason All-C-USA pick in 2018 and 2019, Brooks had 68 tackles in 2018 and shared the team lead with 14.5 TFLs.
The Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service," is presented each February in Fort Walton Beach.
