MARTIN, Tenn. — Thanks to late-inning heroics, Middle Tennessee defeated UT Martin in the rubber match 10-8 on Sunday afternoon.
The Skyhawks (5-7) struck first in the opening frame thanks to a two-run home run by Mac Danford. The Blue Raiders (5-6) responded in the fourth inning with a trio of runs. A Jackson Galloway RBI double to left field scored the first run, while Eston Snider and Clay Badylak each drove in a run.
UT Martin added a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead into the seventh, however, a Trace Phillips three-run shot to right center field gave Middle Tennessee a 6-5 lead late in the game.
