MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee baseball allowed three Evansville Purple Ace runs in the third inning, and trailed for the remainder of Saturday's game at Reese Smith Jr. Field in a 5-3 loss.
After the Purple Aces threw the initial punch, the Blue Raiders promptly got two runs back in the bottom of the third, via an RBI single from SS Brett Coker and a Jeremiah Boyd sacrifice fly.
Evansville padded its lead in the fifth with a solo home run, and in the ninth on an MTSU wild pitch.
