RUSTON, La. – In a low-scoring pitchers duel, Middle Tennessee fell to Sam Houston 2-0 on Friday Morning at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in the 2024 Conference USA Baseball Tournament.
The Bearkats (34-23, 13-11 CUSA) struck first, plating a run in the opening frame on an RBI single. Sam Houston would extend its lead in the fourth inning thanks to a solo shot to center field. The Blue Raiders (20-36, 8-16 CUSA) found a pair of base runners in each of the final three innings, but couldn't get a run across.
On the mound, Chandler Alderman (3-6) was tabbed with the loss, while Michael Watson (7-1) earned the win for the Bearkats and Chandler David picked up his eighth save.
