MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – In the 2019 home opener, Middle Tennessee's seventh inning rally fell short against in-state foe Austin Peay.
Austin Peay (9-6) jumped out to a four-run lead over Middle Tennessee (7-9) after three innings, via a trio of home runs.
The comeback attempt started for the Blue Raiders in the fourth inning with a two-run homer by , who tied the school record for career home runs with 23. MT added a third run in the fifth inning as doubled down the left field line to bring home .
After both teams were held scoreless in the sixth, Austin Peay's bats came back to life, scoring six runs in the top half of the seventh.
