Blue Raiders Post Strong Start at USA Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – Three Blue Raiders posted under-par rounds to open the season on Saturday, as Middle Tennessee got off to a strong start through 18 holes at the USA Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of South Alabama at the par-72, 6,002-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.

Graduate student Sophie Burks paced the Blue Raiders with an opening-round 68 (-4) to kick things off on Saturday, racking up five birdies through her first 18 holes to close the round tied for second out of 97 student-athletes.

The Caudill sisters, graduate student Caroline Caudill (69, -3) and senior Catherine Caudill (70, -2), also had a great start to the season finishing day one tied for fifth and seventh respectively.
