DENTON, Texas – Middle Tennessee softball (33-16, 12-9 C-USA) lost the series opener with North Texas (31-20, 15-7) 2-0 at Lovelace Stadium tonight.
The ace in the circle for the Mean Green, Ashley Peters retired eight straight batters before Amaya Harris drew a walk for the Blue Raiders first baserunner. Gretchen Mead in her six innings allowed just two runs doing her job in the circle for MTSU. Mead's two strikeouts gave her a season-high 100.
North Texas scored the first run of the game with a two-out single in the bottom of the second.
