Murfreesboro, Tenn.— In a match that featured four out of six singles contests going to a third set and a total play time of four hours and seven minutes, Vanderbilt (6-2) outlasted Middle Tennessee (3-5) 4-3 with a clincher in a tiebreak on court six 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (2).
The doubles point was perhaps one of the hardest a Blue Raider opponent has had to earn so far this season, as Vanderbilt squeaked it out to take a 1-0 lead in the match. After the Commodores won 7-6 (7-3) in a tiebreak on court one, Shu Matsuoka and Jakub Kroslak of Middle Tennessee defeated Henry Ruger and Giusseppe Cerasuolo 7-5 to pick up their third doubles win of the season before Vanderbilt clinched the point on court two 7-5.
