MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee played host to nationally ranked Vanderbilt Tuesday and fell victim to one of the nation's best offenses.
The No. 7 Commodores made the short trip down Interstate 24 from Nashville and snapped the Blue Raiders' four-game winning streak with a 15-3 win.
MT (13-19) went into the night hot offensively, averaging over 11 runs per game in its last four, but Vandy (25-8) showed its prowess with 15 hits, nine for extra bases, and drew nine walks.
Vanderbilt started its offensive assault in the first inning, when Preseason All-American JJ Bleday hit the first of his two home runs in the game, a three-run shot to right field.
