MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A tough, back-and-forth affair ended in extra-inning heartbreak for Middle Tennessee Tuesday night at home against Lipscomb.
The Blue Raiders (7-13) and Bisons (11-8) went into the 11th inning tied at 6, when the visitors decided it was time to call it a night. A one-out double drove in a run to break the tie, then a fielder's choice gave Lipscomb an 8-6 lead that would prove to be the final.
"I really thought we played pretty hard … but it didn't quite work out," MT head coach Jim Toman said.
