CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee splits the season series with Austin Peay after falling 16-10 on Tuesday evening at Raymond C. Hand Park.
The Blue Raiders (13-27, 4-11 CUSA) struck first in the opening frame, plating a trio of runs on Trace Phillips' 10th home run of the season. The Governors (24-16, 11-7 ASUN) answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning and proceeded to take a 7-3 lead after adding five runs in the second. After each squad tallied a run in the third, MTSU added another in the fourth, however, Austin Peay exploded for four runs to extend its lead to 12-5.
