HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Middle Tennessee Softball (15-17, 2-3 C-USA) closed out its series against the Marshall Thundering Herd (18-9, 2-3 C-USA) on Sunday, falling 9-1 in six innings at Dot Hicks Field.
It didn't take long for the Blue Raiders to get things started in the contest. After a lineout and a groundout, freshman Anyce Harvey smashed the first pitch she faced over the left-field wall to record her second home run of the season and give the Blue Raiders the 1-0 lead.
Marshall opened the second with a leadoff walk before a hit by pitch put two Thundering Herd baserunners on with no one out.
