MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's basketball came up short in overtime on Saturday night in the Murphy Center, falling 74-64 to Wofford after leading late in the second half.
The Blue Raiders (4-5) led by as many as nine points with six and half minutes to play, but a 9-0 run from the Terriers (3-5) tied the game in the closing minutes. A Justin Bufford layup and a pair of Jacob Johnson free throws each retook the lead late in the second half, giving chances for MTSU to ice the game with one stop in the closing minute and a half, but Wofford was able to make baskets in the paint both times down the court to tie the game back up, 62-62, at the end of regulation.
