Blue Raiders fall at No. 14 Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The nonconference slate ended in disappointing fashion for Middle Tennessee Saturday.

On the road at No. 14 Iowa (4-0), the Blue Raiders (1-3) fell down 17-0 in the first quarter and couldn't recover, losing 48-3.

"[Iowa] did a nice job; they have a great team," MT Head Coach Rick Stockstill said. "They whooped us pretty good today."

The efficient Hawkeye offense started working like an assembly line from the opening possession of the game, when they went 65 yards in nine plays for a touchdown.

It was a sign of things to come for Iowa.
