NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee fell to Vanderbilt 14-1 in seven innings on Tuesday afternoon at Hawkins Field.
The Commodores (26-7) struck first in the opening frame, plating seven runs. In the second inning, the Blue Raiders (11-20) responded with a Cale Vinson solo shot to left field, however, Vanderbilt answered with a trio of runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 10-1 lead. The Commodores would go on to add three runs in the third and another in the sixth to win 14-1
On the mound, Kota Sato (0-2) was tabbed with the loss, while Alex Kranzler (1-1) earned the win for the Commodores.
