MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee baseball got behind early and could never recover on Friday, falling 13-2 to UTSA to open the weekend series at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
Zach Keenan stuck out six Roadrunners while only allowing one run through the game's first three innings, but a four-run fourth inning and two runs given up the sixth proved to be too much to overcome, as the Blue Raider bats never quite came alive outside of a Mason Spiers solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.
"It's one game, it doesn't matter whether its 17-0 or 1-0," head coach Jim Toman said.
