HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Middle Tennessee baseball team was shutout in both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Southern Miss. The Blue Raiders (21-24-1, C-USA 10-16-1) were held hitless by Golden Eagles' (32-15, C-USA 19-7) starting pitcher Walker Powell and lost 6-0 in game-one. In game-two MT was held to just three hits and fell to the Golden Eagle 9-0.
"[Southern Miss] is probably the most complete team that we've faced all year long," said Head Coach Jim Toman. "We couldn't put anything together and we didn't get the pitching that we usually get, so it was a tough day for us.
