MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee softball (5-12) gets the win in the home opener over Detroit Mercy (0-5). Kamryn Carcich held the Titans to just one run on three hits with seven strikeouts.
The Titans scratched a run across early on a two-out double to take a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Ava Tepe led off with a bunt single for MTSU in the bottom of the third for the second hit of the game. The Blue Raiders couldn't capitalize and were held scoreless for three straight innings.
Amaya Harris and Julia Garcia both singled to start the fourth inning.
