Blue Raider great Robert “Cat-Eye” Taylor passes at age 59

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Blue Raider Nation has lost one of its all-time greats as former player Robert "Cat-Eye" Taylor (1971-2020) passed away last week at the age of 59.

Taylor played basketball for the Blue Raiders from 1989-93 and put up numbers that were unmatched by anyone in Middle Tennessee history at the time.

A prolific scorer in blue and white, Taylor became the 21st member of MT's 1,000-point club during his junior season and went on to surpass Kerry Hammonds Sr. (1,616) to become the Blue Raiders' all-time leading scorer in his final game in Murphy Center on February 8, 1993.
