MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee junior Reed Blankenship was honored as the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Blue Raiders to a 45-26 win against Tennessee State this past Saturday. This marks the second time Blankenship has been honored in his career.
Blankenship, who has routinely come up with big games for the Blue Raiders, added another one in the home opener. The safety led the team with nine total tackles, two interceptions and the first blocked kick of his career. It went down as the second two-interception game of his career.
