MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee announced Thursday that Blue Raider softball players Morgan Harris and Precious Birdsong are the school's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
The prestigious award is granted on four pillars of student-athlete excellence – academics, athletics, service and leadership. The NCAA Woman of the Year award garnered 581 nominees, including 251 Division I athletes.
Harris and Birdsong were two four-year Blue Raider starters that as captains in their senior season led MT to its first C-USA Conference Championship this past year. The pair also led the program to just its second NCAA Regional appearance.
